Dr. Timothy Heinze is a professor of marketing at California State University, Chico. He has worked in academia since 2003 and has also held multiple marketing management positions in the automotive (Ford Motor Company), advertising (American Telecast), and international sourcing industries (TFI).
Tim founded the Seufferlein Sales Program at Chico State in 2008 and served as the program’s executive director for a decade. During his tenure, he founded and managed both regional and national university sales competitions. He was also selected as the Northern California Educator of the Year by Innovate North State.
On the research front, Tim has focused on both sales ethics and salesperson authenticity. Current research involves the use of topic modeling to provide constructive training feedback to both sales students and sales professionals. He has published over 20 peer-reviewed journal papers.
In the community, Tim enjoys serving at his local church, supporting his kid’s basketball and volleyball teams, mountain biking, painting, reading, and farming. He also loves traveling, especially cross-country road trips.
