Kathy Johnson, CPA CFF, CGMA, MBA

ACCT 615: Problems in Financial Accounting

Kathy Johnson is a forensic accountant and expert witness with over 30 years of accounting and finance experience. She is currently a vice president of forensic accounting with J.S. Held LLC, where she specializes in fraud investigations, partnership disputes, business valuations, civil and criminal litigation support, estate and trust accounting analysis, and family law. She serves as an expert witness and provides litigation support services for law firms and other accounting and economic issues.

Kathy has held the position of vice president of the Los Angeles Newspaper Group, where she specialized in financial analysis and strategic planning through the economic recession which drastically impacted the newspaper industry. She was president and CEO for CPA Forensics Plus,Inc., where she operated her own CPA firm specializing in forensic accounting and tax.

In addition, Kathy is an adjunct university professor at Chico State, teaching fraud, forensic accounting, auditing, upper division accounting and ethics to both graduate and undergraduate students. She also teaches certified professional education (CPE) courses to other CPAs on topics including family law, business valuations, and asset tracing.

Kathy has a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Texas-Arlington, and an MBA in Business from Pepperdine Graziadio Business School. She is a CFF (Certified in Financial Forensics) and CGMA (Chartered Global Management Accountant). Kathy lives in Southern California.
