Hyunjung Kim, PhD

Dr. Hyunjung Kim received her PhD in public administration from the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy, University at Albany, focusing on the development of system dynamics simulation models for policymaking.

Her teaching areas include management, strategic decision making, and system dynamics modeling. At Chico State, she teaches BADM 495 Applied Strategic Decision Making and MGMT 470 Business Dynamics.

Dr. Kim uses a group model building approach to include key stakeholders in the system dynamics modeling process, helping decision makers understand complexity of their systems and assess potential outcomes of their strategic and managerial decisions. She has been involved in various research and consulting projects. Some of the application areas include data-driven service industry, higher education, public health, environmental resource management, and monetary decision making at the Federal Reserve. Her research articles are published in peer-reviewed journals like System Dynamics Review, Systems Research and Behavioral Science, and Public Administration Review.
